External review of child protection decisions is essential to uphold the human rights of vulnerable children and families. The lack of accountability of child protection decision-making in the ACT disproportionately impacts Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families as well as parents with disability. Public trust and confidence in the system will continue to be eroded without immediate and decisive legislative action.
