The ACT Human Rights Commissioner can intervene in legal proceedings that raise human rights issues. The Commissioner has made submissions in the following matters. Please contact us for documents not provided below.
- Wang v ACT Health : Alleged unlawful race discrimination in the provision of internships for doctors. The Commissioner intervened on the question of when indirect discrimination will be ‘reasonable’, including taking into account the human rights obligations of an ACT Government agency.
- LM v Children’s Court: Alleged breach of Public Authority obligations and ability for courts other than ACT Supreme Court to consider such breaches.
