John Hinchey, ACT Victims of Crime Commissioner has been recognised for his significant contribution to the prevention of domestic and family violence with a a 2017 ACT Violence Prevention Award.

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence Yvette Berry said the award recognised John’s important work “raising awareness of violence against women and children in our community, and helping to build our community where everyone can be free from violence.”
